Is Coaching accreditation conducted ethically. Many of the Accrediting organisation discount pro-bono coaching, as if coaching required an exchange of money to be worthwhile. They assume that the employer should be part of the coaching arrangement. Whereas coaching should be a confidential relationship between Coach and Client.
Coaching Accreditation is a business rather than a professional endeavour, as the development of churn such as Coach Supervision accreditation and the insistence (no evidence base however) on supervision shows. The professional code of Doctors published by the GMC does not insist on supervision. It does insist that Doctors take part in critical reflection and CPD. Supervision is the wrong word, which drives the wrong approach to improving standards and protecting clients.
